$10,000-To-Win Gene Maine Memorial Up Next

ROME, Ga. (05/04/21) – Jake Knowles notched his first victory of 2021 on Saturday night, and he did so in thrilling fashion behind the wheel of his Welshan’s Competition Racing Equipment No. 66 Josh Roberts Trucking/ Robert Skinner Racing/ Savage Chassis Late Model.

The Georgia racer charged to the lead on the final lap of Saturday’s Crate Late Model feature at Dixie Speedway en route to his first trip of the year to Victory Lane.

“Wow, what a way for our team to get our first win of the year,” Knowles exclaimed. “We’ve been good all year, but we’ve really made some major gains over the past month, and it all paid off on Saturday night. We’ve got so many great folks helping us on this car, and I thank them all for their amazing support. This weekend we are focused on taking our best shot at claiming the $10,000 win at Needmore (Speedway).”

Jake Knowles invaded Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) on Friday evening to pilot the Competition Racing Equipment No. 66 Late Model in a Weekly Racing Series Event. After registering the fifth-fastest lap in time trials, Jake posted a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Booger Brooks.

Starting the feature in third, Knowles held a steady momentum throughout the 25-lapper to finish third, trailing Booger Brooks and Jesse Lowe to the checkers. Logan Palmer and Chase Oliver completed the Top-5 finishers.

The following night, Knowles pulled double duty at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Ga.) in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks. Behind the wheel of Buster Goss’ No. 24 Super Late Model, Jake timed in ninth fastest in time trials, but was collected in a chain-reaction tangle in the feature that ended his night early.

In the Knowles Race Parts & Bodies No. 66 Crate Late Model, Knowles executed a last-lap pass in the feature to secure his first win of the season. He finished ahead of Kyler Haygood, Chase Oliver, Colton Jackson, and Randall Powell.
