Have you looked at the weather. I have been watching all week. It started out at 40% a week ago it gradually got up to about 70%. The haulers will get stuck and that pit gate opening is dangerous when its muddy. I was really looking foward to this race as its one of my all time favorites but it is what it is.

yes sir, I have, actually on vacation in that area for the next 5 days. I still think there is something to it when you can only sell 1000 tix in the first place, and they are still available the day before the race.

I have planned a few trips to Wythe but they ALWAYS cancel their big late model shows. Either the weather has to be absolutely perfect (0% chance of rain and 80 degrees) or they're canceling.

    Default Facts

Are that the trip into the pits at wythe for the big haulers is " exciting" to say the least even when the weather is good.....I've never been but have some buddies that have driven haulers in and out of there, it's an e ticket ride is what they say.

    On a good day.

Curious question from a guy who has heard a lot about this track but has never been there... Why is the pit gate dangerous when muddy? Struck my interest...

Its not actually right at the gate. You have to come down a steep incline into the pits that are in the infield. I saw a hauler jacknife ito the inside retaining wall one time. Looks like its a lil tricky at times.
