Wow, what a list. I attended at least six of these shows: Owatonna in '88, Farley in '91, West Liberty in '94, Burlington in '96, Cresco in '97, West Union in '02.

dmr37, technical answer?.....the night it rained out, from what we heard at the time they did payoff according to lineup, meaning Paul Shafer, as they had most of the lineup ready to go when the monsoons came....people went running to their cars, by the time I cleared the crowd, no sense running, there was not a part of me or my clothes that was still dry. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to answer that one....hehe....so technically Paul Shafer, but the 1990 winner was none other than Scott Bloomquist ....that was the year he won 10 of the 14 races, 6 on tracks he had never seen before.....

I love ole SN debates and history. Mike Wallace 1989 I-55 speedway won one but not really! If i remember it right he entered a race and like had three cars in the race, and there was mass confusion which car was on the lead lap. Also hotly contested 1992 champ. Most claim John Gill should of been champ but Bob Pierce was award the title

The Paducah race in 1996 was so awesome! Moyer led the first part of the race then Randy Sellars on the bottom was passing cars headed to the front and went by Moyer. Crowd went crazy. Sure do miss those days. Hate that PIR is closed.

You are so correct on both those subjects.
Short recap on the 1992 deal, UMP even did shirts in separate years one with Gill and one with Pierce as champs....who knows at this point.
Pevely 1989 race, 3 identical painted #6 Mike Wallace cars. Mike was sitting in the infield for two laps before a late caution came out. Leader Tom Rients had just LAPPED the red #6 of Jim Durbin (again)....quick field reset to before the yellow came out, Wallace back on track, Mike Wallace red #6 put in front of Rients and green flag thrown. Just a couple laps later the white and checkers were thrown with Mike Wallace declared the winner, real quick payoff and he was loaded up and gone. As he left the premises, John Gill, parked next to Rients all night, Gill got out of his car, went over to Rients, basically helped him out of his car and drug him through the mud to the flagman yelling "HEY THIS GUY WON THE RACE!" Protests fell on deaf ears. In my eyes always, Tom Rients won with John Gill finishing second.

Who has entered the most Summernational races? I would guess B12 is in the top 5.

Could possibly be Babb at this point too. They have to be #1 and #2 I would imagine.
