Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader at SMS July 9-10

Maryville, Tennessee – One of the biggest weekends in the recent history of Smoky Mountain Speedway is set to take place on July 9-10 with a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader. Over $150,000 in prize money will be available over two nights of racing.

On Friday, July 9, the Mountain Moonshine Classic presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet begins with a 40-lap, $12,000 to win program. The program consists of qualifying, heat races, consolation races, and the A-main for $12,000. Joining the program on Friday, July 9 will be 604 crate late models for $1,500 to win and sportsman late models for $1,000 to win.

Then on Saturday, July 10, another full program of racing takes place for 60 laps at $20,000 to win. The program on Saturday, July 10 includes 604 late models for $1,500 to win and the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series for $1,500 to win.

The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be on hand for the doubleheader weekend of racing. Tim McCreadie and Hudson O’Neal are locked in a tight battle for the series points lead. Jonathan Davenport is quickly moving into contention sitting in third. Kyle Bronson, Mike Marlar, Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Jimmy Owens, Ricky Thorton Jr., Tyler Erb, and Earl Pearson Jr. are other series regulars looking to cash in at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

NASCAR star Kyle Larson is scheduled to be at Smoky Mountain Speedway for both nights of racing. Other scheduled drivers include Scott Bloomquist, Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, Chris Ferguson, Stormy Scott, Skip Arp, Donald McIntosh, and many more.

All gates will open at noon on both days. The drivers meeting is set for 7:00 both nights. Hot laps, time trials, and racing action will begin at 7:30 on both nights.

Grandstand ticket prices on Friday, July 9 are $30 for adults, kids 11 and under are free. Tier parking tickets are $40 for adults, kids 11 and under are free. Pit passes are $40 for adults, kids 11 and under are $20.

There will be a service by Dirt Racing Outreach at 5:30 on Saturday, July 10 at the pavilion located beside the grandstand concession stand. Drivers such as Josh Richards, Hudson O'Neal, and Chris Ferguson will give their testimony and share their faith. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Chairs will only be allowed on the concrete areas of the grandstands. Small seatbacks and cushions are permitted elsewhere. We ask that fans that are using large chairs use the top rows to prevent blocking others view. Anyone wanting a seat on the concrete bleachers are asked to get to the track early. There will be an overflow seating area available in the grassy area next to the turn 4 grandstands.

Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville, Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is tier parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next right on Crye Road.
