Default What would be your call?

Cars in a start after a caution, turn 4, #3 car runs his nose up under #1 car left rear (on the pole) causing the #1 car to shoot across in front of #2 car (lead on the outside), #1 car (on the pole)almost hits the front wall but saves it and crosses the start line in fourth place. Is it legal to take out the lead car on the pole? Should a flag been thrown?

Sounds like a restart to me.

Correct answer. Now, what if this race is under a traveling series? Does the series manager, sitting in the tower, call the shots or does an unknown flagman? Note, sometimes I've seen someone working in the series flag the race wearing the series clothing, but not in this case.

    The flagman controls the race.

Caution thrown and #3 car to the rear. The race director makes the calls. But … depending on the series, track, etc, that’s not always the case lol. The flagman has nothing to do with it.

Car #3 jumped, he's going to the tail, the Leader gets his spot back as no lap was completed, and were doing it all over again.

I'm guessing there's more to this story... but this is a black and white issue with no gray area...Agree with TerryM and slideiton, they are spot on correct IMO.

^^^^^^ LOL. Saturday Night has passed and it was final. There was no flag. Congrats to the #3 position car for going on and winning the race being THE #1 CAR crossing the finish line and not TRASHING his car, the favorite in that series, and keeping up the points. Even fans from that STATE acknowledged the officials looking the other way and not throwing the flag. I think I gave enough hints, LOL.

What track and what series. Sound like the Southern All Stars to me.

Anyone thinks that a flagman controls a start anymore is wrong from the get go. If he's got a head set on then I guarantee you someone is calling the start other than him.

Who is supposed to be in control of the race and who is actually calling the shots are two different things.
