Jimmy Mars Grabs Pair of Top Fives Against Outlaws; Guns for $5,000 Tomorrow at CLS

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team have one lone race circled on their calendar for the upcoming weekend, as they plan to invade the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on Saturday night, July 24. The Late Models will be the headlining class tomorrow night at CLS and a $5,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs. Jimmy has already scored two triumphs at the 3/8-mile oval in 2021 and will be gunning for his third feature victory at the facility (fifth overall) on Saturday. More information on Cedar Lake Speedway can be accessed online at www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

Mars Racing is fresh off a swing through the Upper Midwest with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series – including a trio of races last weekend (July 16-18) in the states of North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Last Friday evening at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jimmy clicked off the third quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session prior to securing a heat race triumph. The popular driver known as the “Iceman” then put on a great show during the 40-lap feature with Dennis Erb, Jr. and officially led lap 22 before settling for a close runner-up performance behind only $10,000 victor Erb, Jr.!

At I-94 Sure Step Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on Saturday, another $10,000 payday was on the line for competitors racing with the national touring series. Jimmy grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later moved past a trio of competitors during the 40-lapper to land in the seventh finishing position.

In Sunday’s $10,000 to win finale at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Jimmy stopped the clock third fastest in Group B during qualifying before nabbing another heat race victory. He then raced hard all over the top ten at his hometown venue during the 40-lap headliner and eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the fourth spot behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Cade Dillard, and Chris Madden.
