SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway presents a Regular Weekly Points Race for the Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions. The Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division will also be in action during Intermission.

The Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division is for kids 15 years of age and younger and Guy Ingham of Athens, TN has been named the Race Director for the Division. Ingham, a U.S. Army Veteran, will teach the kids how to race the right way and the safe way.

Ingham is very familiar teaching kids how to race, as his 14-year-old son Nate Ingham of Athens, TN has been competing in the regular Front-Wheel-Drive Division this season at Mountain View Raceway. Nate won his first Front-Wheel-Drive Division feature race win on July 31 driving the Ingham Racing Honda, and he is sixth in the season point standings.

The Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division will compete in a controlled ten-lap race using a Pace Car, which will be another Front-Wheel-Drive race car driven by a veteran driver. The youngsters will be instructed to not pass the Pace Car. The Pace Car will increase speed the faster the kids can go in a safe manner.

The Junior race cars are built under the same rules as the regular Front-Wheel-Drive race cars with an emphasis on safety. The Junior drivers will wear fire retardant uniforms, with the latest design of safety helmets. The Junior drivers are also strapped into a full-containment safety seat with a five point safety harness.
