    Default Stupid announcer buzz words

After seeing the thread about driver nicknames, which I personally hate, I thought of something else that bugs me: stupid buzz words or phrases said by announcers trying to be cute. I'll start with the 3 worst, in my opinion, picked up from late model races while watching on FloRacing:
    1. Bull horns out
    2. Time to cowboy up
    3. Turquoise laundry

    Anyone else?

Or 3 wide when they're not even close to 3 wide.

No announcer is more annoying then WOO Sprints Johnny Gibson. He's the very definition of screechy, screaming cliche's. Oh Baby

Wrong site, BB55!! A lot of folks on here probably haven't heard him! We all have those that bug us more than others. Some of mine are dynomite, get something yummy for your tummy, drop the hammer, oh baby, etc.

I filled in at the last moment as announcer at our local track last Saturday nite. It was fun but...It had been a long time since I did any announcing. It’s not easy. The people announcing on the big circuits are talented people with of course different styles. I wish I was half that good. You find yourself repeating certain phrases because you get comfortable with them....I’m guilty of it. Mine is “time to get some dirt in our Dew. Your job is to make it sound exciting even if it isn’t. It’s your job. Give these guys a break. Most of them are very good at it even if you don’t like their style.

The main thing that ticks me off is when announcers are trying to sound exciting or cool but give the wrong information. For example "3 wide off two" and it's 2 wide at best with a guy looking... getting the number of laps wrong in the heat race or last chance racing calling 2 to go when it's 6 to go.

I heard an announcer say one time while they were pushing a sprint car to pits that the clutch was out
We build fast race cars,,not race cars fast!

Giving out lap times in hot laps (nobody cares)Popsicle sticks2nd quick time when only 2 cars have gone or fast time when they're the first carPersonal opinion but 2 of my favorite announcers are in sprint cars (Johnny Gibson and Blake Anderson). Also love Essex, DJ, and Ben Shelton.

I think it was last year an announcer was trying to sound exciting and said the wrong driver was leading at Port Royal.. but they were at Portsmouth. 2 mistakes.. lol

Smoother than cream cheese on a bagel.
    Lockstep formation
    2x2x2x2
Drove that one in there almost to (insert nearby city)
    caution is out...caution is oooooouuuuuuuuuttttttt!!!

But the most annoying thing to me is when the announcer is babbling on about gawd-knows-what under caution, doesn't see something that's going on and then tries to act like whatever he should have noticed he saw it all along and makes a fool of himself trying to fill in the gaps he missed.

Every announcer in racing has catch phrases that get annoying.

It's funny reading some of these phrases and I can hear in my head exactly who says them.

With that being said, there's no better two than Dustin Jarrett and James Essex. They're knowledgeable, informative, and funny without being over the top.
