Jimmy Mars Ready for Mississippi Thunder Special After Capturing Fourth Mahder 55 Title!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) For the fourth time in recent years (2017, 2018, 2019, & 2021), Jimmy Mars stood tall in victory lane in the 'Duane Mahder Memorial 55' at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway! On Friday night, August 13 at the Menomonie, Wisconsin oval, Jimmy advanced six spots during his heat race to finish second and later rolled off from the outside of the third row in the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series special.

The popular driver known as "The Iceman" then fell back early in the race before charging back to the front and eventually blasting past leader Pat Doar on a lap 13 restart. Jimmy then held the point for the remainder of the 55-lap headliner to secure the $5,555 top prize ahead of a top five that consisted of Doar, Jake Redetzke, A.J. Diemel, and Nick Anvelink! Full results from Red Cedar Speedway can be viewed online at www.wissotachallengeseries.com.

“Everything worked out real good for us last Friday at Red Cedar,” quoted Mars after picking up his sixth overall victory of the 2021 campaign. “We fell back some early in the race, but when my car took off… it really took off. I got a good run on that restart and drove by (Pat) Doar on the top before the track started to rubber up on the bottom. It’s always nice to win around home and I can’t thank Veit & Company, Vonco, Deppe Enterprises, T.L. Sinz Plumbing, Keyes Chevytown, ARMI Contractors, Baileigh Industrial, Mid-States Equipment & Hydraulics, Quality Freight Rate and everyone else associated with our team enough for all of their unwavering support!”

Jimmy and his Mars Racing team will return to dirt-slinging action later tonight, August 20 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin. The Dirt Kings Late Model Touring Series will invade MTS tonight to preside over the annual running of the ‘Rumble by the River 40,’ which will shell out a $5,000 paycheck.
