Dennis Erb, Jr. Fourth at Eriez and Fourth in WOOLMS Points Heading to Hawkeye State

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing ventured to the northeast with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series from August 19-22 for a quartet of $10,000 to win events in the states of New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Things kicked off last Thursday night at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. Dennis Erb, Jr. ran second in his heat race before battery issues during the 40-lap feature caused him to slide to eleventh in the final finishing order. On Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Dennis placed eighth in his loaded heat race, broke a shock in his B-Main, and later rallied past nine competitors in the 40-lap main event to salvage a fourteenth place performance.

The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then ran second in his heat race on Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio before bringing home a solid ninth place feature showing after forty green flag circuits. In the weekend finale on Sunday at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pennsylvania, Dennis came into the event as the defending race winner. He won his heat race in preliminary action and later led the first four circuits in the 40-lapper before winding up fourth at the checkers behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Dave Hess, Jr., and Chub Frank. Dennis still sits fourth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following the hectic quadruple header. Complete results from each race can be located by clicking on www.woolms.com.

Dennis and his #28 team will now turn their focus to the three-day ‘Quad Cities 150’ presented by Hoker Trucking, which will take place from August 26-28 at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa. The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series will preside over the inaugural event, which will start later tonight and on Friday with a pair of full shows ending in a $10,000 to win main event.

Drivers will accrue points throughout the weekend based on qualifying, heat races, and feature performances. Those points will then determine the lineup for Saturday’s pivotal heat races that will help set the stage for the 70-lap grand finale, which boasts a whopping $30,000 windfall. Dennis has already visited the 1/4-mile oval twice in 2021, as he finished inside of the top ten in races sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series and the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
