SPRING CITY, TN – Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN drove the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR to his fourth Late Model win of the season on Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway. The defending track Late Model Champion made the right move in lapped traffic with four laps to go to take the lead in the 25-lap feature race.

Goodman beat Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN in the Cardwell Racing Special back to the checkered flag with a 3.225 second margin of victory to pad his point lead in quest of his second straight season title.

Jeremy Hicks of Cleveland, TN led the race for 15 laps, but got caught in late race lapped traffic and had to settle for third in the Hicks Motorsports Warrior. Glenn Vanover of Harriman, TN drove the Vanover Concrete Finishing Longhorn to a fourth-place finish and Randall Hicks of Cleveland, TN rounded out the top five in the Hicks Racing Special.

Ruben Mayfield of Lenoir City, TN earned the pole position for the $2,200-to-win Feature Race with Fast Time honors in Hot Lap Qualifying with a lap around the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval in 11.223 seconds driving the RM Trucking Stinger. At the drop of the green flag, Mayfield took the lead followed by Goodman, Cardwell, Vanover and John Ownbey of Cleveland, TN.

The first of two caution flags came out on lap two when Ownbey stalled the Orr Brothers Construction Kryptonite on the front straightaway. That created a scramble among the top five cars that saw Goodman get shuffled back to fifth, and Jeremy Hicks bolted from sixth to second.

When the field went back to green flag action, Jeremy Hicks put the pressure on Mayfield to challenge for the lead. Hicks took the point from Mayfield on lap six, and Cardwell passed Mayfield for the second spot on lap nine. Mayfield slowed off the pace on lap ten and brought out the caution flag when he stalled down the backstretch.

Jeremy Hicks led Cardwell, Goodman, Vanover and Randall Hicks down for the restart, and the top three cars pulled away while putting on a battle for the lead. Goodman got an inside run on Cardwell coming off the second turn on lap 17 to take the second spot. Cardwell found the outside groove to his liking on lap 19, as he sailed around Goodman to retake the second spot.

With five laps to go, the leaders drove up on heavy lapped traffic. Jeremy Hicks dove into turn three on lap 21, but his path was closed by the lapped cars. Goodman was in the right place at the right time and took the lead with Cardwell following him up to the second spot. Once in front, Goodman pulled away to the victory,
