Donald McIntosh Bests Boyd’s Iron-Man Series Field for $4,000 Payday
Adds Runner-Up Finish at Mountain View Raceway

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (09/06/21) – Donald McIntosh raced his Massey Electric Company No. 7m Ole Ben Franklin Motors/ Stowers Cat/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $4,000 victory on Friday night at Boyd’s Speedway with the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series.

The triumph marked his first of the 2021 campaign.

“I don’t think it’s a big secret that this has been a challenging year for us. If it could go wrong, it has this year. We’ve shown a lot of speed in the past month or so though, and winning the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Championship was a big shot in the arm. We had to beat a stout field of cars on Friday night, but we were able to get the job done. Anytime you win a race by five seconds these days, things are really clicking for you,” McIntosh said. “Thanks to everyone with this Blount Motorsports team for all of their hard work and support this year. Hopefully, we can get a few more wins before the year is over.”

Donald McIntosh traveled to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) on Friday evening for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series-sanctioned Labor Day Showdown. With 23 Late Models entered, Donald’s second-fastest lap in his time trial group placed him third on the starting grid for the feature.

Winning by a 5.350-second margin, McIntosh took control of the lead on the second circuit and then cruised to his first win of the season, which came over Sam Seawright, Cruz Skinner, Jensen Ford, and Jason Croft. He pocketed $4,000 for the winning performance.

On Saturday night the team made their debut at Mountain View Raceway (Spring City, Tenn.). Via preliminary action, McIntosh earned the fourth-starting spot for the feature. He went on to race to a runner-up finish behind Chase King with Heath Hindman, John Ownbey, and Ahnna Parkhurst completing the Top-5 finishers.

Sunday night’s 13th annual Buddy Rogers Memorial fell victim to rain at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway.
