Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing Repeat in Fairbury’s One For The Road
Knoxville Late Model Nationals on Tap this Weekend

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (09/14/21) – Registering his 15th win of the year, Brandon Sheppard piloted the Rocket1 Racing / Valvoline No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches / Durham Racing Engines-powered XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model to the $15,000 victory in Monday night’s One For the Road event at Fairbury Speedway.

The victory marked Sheppard’s second-straight in the event, and came after the team fell short of their goal of claiming their first World 100 win.

“We didn’t have the World 100 weekend that we hoped for. We just weren’t where we needed to be with the car on Thursday night in the 51st World 100, and then on Saturday night in the 50th World 100 we had a really good car, but a flat tire near the race’s midway point hampered our efforts,” Sheppard shared. “We rolled into Fairbury (Speedway) on Monday night, and got to the lead around lap 20 and never looked back. It’s always special to win at Fairbury, and this was a great win for our team.”

Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard visited the famed Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon to enter preliminary action for the 51st annual World 100. With the 80-car field divided into two groups, Sheppard clocked in ninth-fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win. Starting the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature in fifth, Brandon improved two spots in the 25-lapper to finish third. He followed Johnny Scott and Nick Hoffman across the line with Bobby Pierce and Jonathan Davenport rounding out the Top-5.

Earning the fifth-starting position for his heat race on Thursday, Brandon edged his way into the $54,000-to-win World 100 with the third-and-final transfer spot. Starting in 16th, Sheppard faded two spots in the 100-lap affair to record an 18th-place outing.

For the 50th annual World 100 on Friday evening, Sheppard’s third-place finish in his heat race placed him fourth on the starting grid for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Brandon clawed forward one spot to register a third-place finish. He trailed Gregg Satterlee and Bobby Pierce to the checkers with Nick Hoffman and Tim McCreadie completing the Top-5 finishers.

On Saturday, Brandon went from third-to-first in his heat race, which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the $53,000-to-win finale. After pitting on lap 49 to replace a flat left-rear tire, Sheppard charged from the tail to finish sixth in the 100-lap affair.

Monday night found the team at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, where they entered the second annual One For The Road presented by I-Beam Sliding Doors. The $15,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event drew a field of 31 entries to the ¼-mile oval. Brandon qualified sixth fastest in time trials before winning his heat race to earn the third-starting spot for the night’s 50-lap feature.

Sheppard worked his way to the lead on a lap 20 restart, and once out front never looked back on his way to his second-straight triumph in the event and his 15th overall win of the season. Tanner English, Bobby Pierce, Mike Spatola, and Gordy Gundaker completed the Top-5 finishers.
