Dennis Erb, Jr. Seventh in $20,000 Jackson 100; Heads to Southeast with Outlaws

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing trekked to the Hoosier State from September 23-25 for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The dirt-slinging action got underway last Thursday with the conclusion of the rescheduled 'Indiana Icebreaker' from back in March. Dennis Erb, Jr. rallied to finish second in his B-Main and later rolled off from the outside of the ninth row in the 50-lap feature event. With a $15,000 payday up for grabs, Dennis was able to steer past seven competitors during the rough and tumble contest to salvage an eleventh place finish.

At Brownstown on Friday evening, a $10,000 top prize was on the line in a program dubbed as the 'Night Before the Jackson.' Dennis ran fifth in his heat race and third in his B-Main, which earned him the rights to the outside of the eleventh row for the start of the 40-lap main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then blitzed past eleven competitors during the race to secure another eleventh place effort.

The tripleheader at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval then wrapped up on Saturday night with the 42nd Annual 'Jackson 100,' which boasted a hefty $20,000 winner's check. Dennis timed in sixth fastest in Group B during qualifying, finished second in his stacked heat race, and later moved up to bag a strong seventh place performance in the 100-lap mega-event. The #28 team is set to rejoin the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tour this upcoming weekend (October 1-2) in the states of South Carolina and Georgia for a pair of $10,000 to win shootouts. Up first will be a visit to the renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina later tonight for the annual running of the ‘Mike Duvall Memorial.’ The doubleheader will then conclude on Saturday evening with a trip to the gray gumbo at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. Dennis comes into the weekend fourth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings with only four point races remaining on the 2021 schedule.
