Mars Racing Set to Invade ABC Raceway Following Another Punky Manor Challenge Win!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team and driver Jimmy Mars captured their eighth win of the 2021 racing season over the September 24-25 weekend in the 41st Annual 'Punky Manor Challenge of Champions' at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway! Jimmy won his Late Model heat race on Friday night and later rolled off from the pole position in Saturday's 40-lap headliner. The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace then topped the WISSOTA-sanctioned contest at his hometown oval to land the $4,000 top prize over a top five that included runner-up A.J. Diemel, Rick Hanestad, Chad Mahder, and Jesse Glenz!

In WISSOTA Modified action at Red Cedar Speedway, Jimmy advanced three spots during Friday's heat race to finish third. The popular driver known as "The Iceman" then started the $2,000 to win main event on Saturday from the outside of the fifth row and was up inside of the top five at one point, but was unable to finish the race after a bout with the wall and was ultimately paid for a fifteenth place showing. Complete results from the 'Punky Manor Challenge of Champions' weekend can be found online by clicking on www.redcedarspeedway.com.

“It was another good weekend for us at Red Cedar and it’s always fun to help put on a great show in front of the hometown fans,” stated Mars this week. “Our Late Model stuff is going real well right now and our Modified has been fast as well. I had moved up into the top five in that feature and just tried to knock down the fence a couple of times I guess. Chris, Jeff, and everyone here at the shop has worked hard getting everything back together this week and maybe we can get another victory in Ashland. A huge thanks to Veit & Company, Vonco, Deppe Enterprises, T.L. Sinz Plumbing, Keyes Chevytown and all of our other great sponsors and supporters!”

After watching the weather closely all week, the Mars Racing team finalized plans earlier today to invade ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin this weekend (October 1-2) for the 46th edition of the ‘Red Clay Classic.’ As has been the case the prior two weekends, Jimmy will unload both a WISSOTA Late Model and a WISSOTA Modified in the popular late-season special. Preliminary action will take place later this evening at ABC Raceway, while the $5,700 to win Late Model feature and the $4,000 to win Modified main event will be held on Saturday evening. Jimmy has multiple ‘Red Clay Classic’ titles on his resume with his last coming in a Late Model back in 2015. More information can be obtained online by accessing www.abcraceway.com.
