R.J. and Rod Conley Both Land Inside of Top Five in Atomic Blast

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Brothers Rod and R.J. Conley made the trek north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening, October 2 for the running of the unsanctioned 'Atomic Blast.' R.J. clicked off the second fastest lap during the Super Late Model qualifying session before securing a victory in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the front row and leading the first seventeen circuits of the 25-lap headliner, R.J. was passed on a restart and was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance behind only $3,000 victor Steve Casebolt.

Rod also sported a fast racecar, as he timed in sixth quickest during qualifying, placed second in his heat race, and climbed two spots during the 25-lapper to land in the fourth finishing position in the 'Atomic Blast.' Full results from Atomic Speedway can be viewed online by clicking on www.atomicspeedway.net.

With both R.J. Conley and Hall of Famer Delmas Conley opting to take the upcoming weekend off, Rod Conley will be the lone Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) driver in competition. “Hot Rod” will unload his familiar #71r machine at the sprawling West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia on October 9-10 for the ‘RACEFEST World Championship.’ The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series and Zimmer’s United Late Model Series (ULMS) will co-sanction a pair of special events at WVMS, which kicks off on Saturday with a $5,000 to win shootout. Sunday’s finale at the 5/8-mile oval will boast a $15,000 payday for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. More information on the ‘RACEFEST World Championship’ can be found online at www.wvmotorspeedway.com.
