Dennis Erb, Jr. Continues Late Season Surge with National 100 Runner-Up Finish

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Fresh off last weekend's big 'Coors Light Fall Classic' triumph, Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team headed back south on October 30-31 to compete in the 47th Annual 'National 100' at East Alabama Motor Speedway. A total of 25 Super Late Model teams signed into the pit area at the historic Phenix City, Alabama oval to do battle for the $20,000 winner's check. On Saturday evening during preliminary action, Dennis laid down the third quickest lap in his group during time trials prior to grabbing the second transfer spot through his loaded heat race.

After starting Sunday's 100-lap headliner from the outside of the third row, Dennis - the 2016 'National 100' victor - steadily made a march forward and climbed to as high as second in the running order of the late-season special. With the track turning one-groove late in the distance, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace settled for a strong runner-up performance behind only race winner Brandon Overton! With much momentum, Dennis Erb Racing will enter the final two World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series events of the year from November 4-6 in the annual running of the ‘NGK NTK World Finals’ at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte. Two rounds of qualifying on Thursday evening will set the heat race lineups for both Friday and Saturday at the Concord, North Carolina facility. On each occasion, the night’s 50-lap Super Late Model feature will shell out a $12,000 top prize.

Dennis comes into the ‘NGK NTK World Finals’ extravaganza fourth in the latest version of the national series point standings. He has enjoyed a taste of Victory Lane at the 4/10-mile speedplant recently, as he captured the win in the ‘World Finals’ finale back in 2017.
