Forecasted Wet Weather Pushes Spring Nationals Visit to Tri-County Race Track to Thursday, April 21

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) With forecasted wet weather rolling into the Brasstown, North Carolina area tomorrow, March 18, Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series officials made the decision today to postpone Friday’s $4,053 to win shootout at Tri-County Race Track to Thursday, April 21. While it is always disappointing to push back an event, the postponed date will set up a huge series tripleheader in the states of North Carolina and Tennessee from April 21-23. Following the visit to Tri-County Race Track on that Thursday evening, the Spring Nationals will then sanction a similar $4,053 to win show on Friday at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee before heading to Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday with a $10,053 payday up for grabs.

Next up for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series tour will be a lucrative doubleheader on April 15-16 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia and Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. A strong field of competitors is expected to vie for the $10,053 paycheck on that Friday at Wythe, while the ‘Lil Bill Corum Memorial’ at Tazewell on Saturday will shell out a whopping $21,000 to the winner. Additional information on these races will be made available on www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com as Easter weekend draws near.

The program scheduled for tomorrow night at Tri-County Race Track was slated to be the facility’s 2022 season opener. With the postponement of the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series stop to the 1/4-mile oval, the season lid lifter will now be Friday, April 1. The Interstate Welding 602 Modified Street Spring Championship will be held with a $1,500 top prize on the line. Other classes in action on April 1 will be the Limited/Crate Late Model, Open Wheel Modified, Street Stock, Pony, and Front Wheel Drive divisions. More information on the new season opener can be accessed online by clicking on www.TriCountyRaceTrack.net.
