I’m happy they are doing this. Hopefully I69 is in better shape than it is now.

I don't like these specific memorial races. It devalues the life of others that died that had a connection to the area or track or what the case may be. Once a year just have a Memorial race to honor all those that have passed away if you want to have an event.

Sometimes if you don’t like something the best thing to do is to keep that opinion to your self.

That is a great idea. Now, find a track promoter to sell your idea to. Could be a great thing. I’m actually surprised Brownstown didn’t jump on this. I would think he ran more races there than anywhere else that I know of

I feel like the race should be held at Brownstown IMO. Not a knock to circle city at all. CJ was a known runner, and was very good at Btown in his hay day.

We went through the same thing in my area with Jackie Boggs passing. We had 2 different Boggs memorial style races this year. I always felt like Jackies home track was PRP, and they were the one that didnt name a race after him, they had a kids night.

I dont see the connection between giving everyone a trophy for racing and remembering everyone that died with a Memorial race. Can you explain the connection?

I would think that PRP would certainly be planning a Delmas Conley memorial race already ? ?

PRP was indeed Delmas' home track, but he raced at atomic just as much. The tracks are only about 45mins apart. I look for both of them to do something in his name.

It is a little premature. They could have waited a week or so.

I.agree they should have waited a couple of weeks and it should be at Brownstown it's not fitting that it be there.

Brownstown has reached out to the family and let the know they would be honored to have something for them and CJ. Would never do anything without the immediate families consent.

Has a Rayburn built car even raced at Circle City?
Memorial races can be held anywhere but Brownstown is the more appropriate place to run a race in memory of CJ.

Yes. Seceral. On several occasions. CJ took cars there in 2021. Rohn Moon had a good run going there and broke an engine.
