https://twitter.com/WoOLateModels/st...542339/photo/2 Due to the sheer volume of cars, Friday & Saturday's #SunshineNats start times have moved up. Hot Laps 3pm Eastern.

Absolutely insane. It’s 5 till midnight in Florida and there is 7 LC qualifiers left and 3 A-Mains. Hot laps were at 5:30 Florida time. You should never have a support class with 82 cars and another with 41 cars.

Why they didnt hot lap/qualify the crates is beyond me. That would have saved a bunch of time.

Its going to be a survival tonight.

They should have the 2 support classes draw for starting positions and use passing points. It would provide much better racing and take a lot less time.

Exactly, only super late models and 410 sprints should time trial. I bet if they polled fans at all tracks and time trials would be the biggest downfall of going to the races, especially when it seems every class is now doing it .

This is why we didn’t attend a single local show last year. First it was Georgia and Alabama. Now it’s spreading to Florida and Tennessee. I fear it will get worse before it gets better.

Drivers down here don’t want heat races. They claim it’s too hard on equipment. Locals, crates, SAS, Southern Nationals, Spring Nationals, etc. I’ve talked to them in person and on Facebook. They do not want heat races. They want qualifying, top 12, 16, however many locked straight up into the feature, and a consy or two. And the saddest part is, the fans down here seem to support it. But I never will.

I remember about 5 or 6 years ago, The Ultimate Super Late Model series came north to Georgetown Speedway in Delaware for a race. After the time trials locked in the top 16 in the feature (Heads up start based on the fast timer on the pole) all the fans were confused by the format and wondered why no heat races since all the Mid Atlantic tracks have heat races....although the feature was good, the fans felt cheated. Needless to say, Ultimate has never scheduled another race that far north again.....

If they want to make all that back gate money, fine but you sold the show as a WoO show. That’s what the bulk of the crowd attended or tuned in to watch.
As mentioned, qualifying 160+ cars burned up a lot of time, that’s a no brainer in a world of drawing for starting positions in the under classes but move the supers through! Run their heats first, then the 602’s, then super last chance races, 604heats then super feature.
In this day and age when you’re selling to a tv audience on a week night to run a total sh** show like that.
And Rueben carrying on for 14 Heat races made it even more painful…
