Mr. Smooth
Any news on when moyer, will start racing this season.
-
I am not sure he will race at all. I believe Jr. has liquidated most of the operation now. Unless someone offers him a ride we may not see him at all.
-
There was an article on DoD in which he said he’s not going to field a car anymore but would consider running if someone offered him a ride in good equipment at some of the big shows.
-
Did he sell his house and shop in Arkansas? He might be enjoying the good life in Arizona too much to think about racing, but I am sure he would not turn down a quality ride on someone else's dime.
-
What about Moyer Jr, when will his racing season start. I think he has A Long Horn car to start the year out????

There has been a William Moyer selling stuff on the Facebook late model group. I seen Billy Jr was putting a car together awhile back, but have not seen a schedule from anything yet.
I look for him to do the XR races, MLRA, and MARS.

^^^ That's Jr selling his dad's stuff on Facebook. Something about his page was messed up. Can't remember what his deal was exactly but it is him.

I had a hunch it was him, SR doesnt seem like the Facebook type. Billy Jr should just start making shirts and signing autographs as William Moyer.

What’s a realistic “oldest age” at which drivers can be competitive?

As for "oldest age" to still be competitive, a number of things would undoubtedly factor in. Tracks and conditions (rutted up bullrings versus slick and smooth), and more importantly the individual themself. It always appeared to me that Moyer took care of himself (unlike my hero the zero). I felt he was still competitive, but maybe not to the degree he wanted or needed to be. I wish him well in his retirement.

Glad I got see his last win at Davenport Speedway last year!
