There can't be more than 100 people in the stands. Everyone got all bent out of shape over Vado, but it's crickets tonight. I guess everybody is fixated on Larson.

That place can kinda fool you. The year we went you could pretty much sit wherever you wanted in the stands, but there was twice as many people lined around the fence.

Like how in the MAV TV intro they showed an old crowd shot looking like the stands were packed. How do you pay a purse with a crowd like that. Guess the back gate and MAV.

It’s Thursday night and we’re heading into the coldest weekend of the year. We’re about 45 minutes north of Brunswick and our local forecast is 50/30 tomorrow and 42/22 Saturday. That’s pretty cold for down here. We’ve attended every one of these at GIS since I moved down here 8 years ago. Other than when weather is an issue, this show has produced some of the biggest crowds I’ve seen (excluding Eldora and Florence).

I will say this: Our first few years, admission for this weekend was $10 Friday and $15 Saturday — easily the best bargain of any show in the sport. Now it’s $35/day. That could be a factor, but with it being so cold, it’s hard to say. We would be there the next two nights, but I just had major shoulder surgery a couple weeks ago and I just can’t do it. Hopefully the stands fill up more the next couple nights. Gonna be a good show.

One can only hope that they don't start painting the seating all different colors so that it looks like a ton of fans are there from a distance like at some of the NASKY races ! !

Those commercial shots are recorded well in advance. They had no option other than using previous footage.
