    Default Austin Kirkpatrick

What are his plans for 2022? Will he run his own car or will he run his buddies Longhorn ?

I love how he shows up occasionally with his home built car and does well. The Vado deal must have been fun for him. Getting to use the Longhorn.

I hope he is able to get some things figured out with his car. From what I recall, I haven't seen much consistent speed out of him since his old style frontend was outlawed.

He was second at Screven at the end of the season. He made the world 100. Not bad, if you ask me. He hasn't been good lately though, and broke stuff about every time out.

Yes, Never said he's been bad. Just to me I haven't seen consistency in the program lately. I'm sure he'll get it lined out sooner or later tho.

I'd say he'd tell you himself, that no one ever has called him consistent.

He’s never been consistent, even with the outlawed front end. He’s got speed for sure, but he very rarely puts it all together.

At least he can build his own car. There aren't many left that can. Now you buy everything from one person and THAT person gets a bigger say than anyone as far as rules go.

    Bayko,

It's not like the front end was a silver bullet anyway, there's a reason other types of cars are actually REQUIRED to have said front end because it's not as good. But, people sure panic in this sport over stupid things sometimes while they ignore the real issues.

I would imagine its hard to be consistent on a regular basis when you are testing something new and different almost every time you hit the racetrack. I know people are going to point at Bloomquist as someone who was doing almost the same thing of chassis R&D almost every time out but I'm not sure that Austin is doing it for a living.

He had a rough go those first races:

Don't remember the order of when these happened

    1. When he got hit it broke the entire inside of the rear end one night and had to get a new rear end and get back to the racetrack then next day

    2. Self inflicted LF suspension damage when he folded the LF under the car but hitting a Ute tire

    3. Got terbo'ed in a heat race and knocked back like 5 spots

    4. Last night, he had motor issues and it started sputtering

That being said he will be the first to tell you, the car had no speed but hard to get faster when you're repairing stuff all day, lol.
