    Default East Bay Track Surface

As Terbo said tonight this isn't the East Bay that the fans came to see. I am thinking they didn't put as much water on it today because of all the rain yesterday but it wasn't as racy last year either. Seems it used to carry some tack all the way through the end of the night, I wonder if the drying iout has to do with having so many cars, softer tires or both?

The track did seem better last week when they were running ump mods/crate lates most nights, but it still didn’t seem to be as good as what EB has been the last few years. It’s been really bottom dominant most nights this year, but a bad EB is still better than a good volusia lol.

That last sentence would make a heck of a bumper sticker…….I would buy it.

First half of week was awesome last year. Second half was terrible. Track had moisture yesterday. Still has the rubber on it too.

Surface is weird/junk. Even with all that moisture it won't build any kind of curb to let the top side come in.

But the top is where it was fast last night, with the best surface of the week?

I'd push those infield tires out about 5 ft on the corners, it'd make the top more competitive to run.

The WoO sprint race at Volusia (that just finished) was a lot better than any of these races that have happened at East Bay thus far.

East bay was much better all around tonight. I too wish they would have pushed the uke tires up a bit.

I was at East Bay last night. I thought the surface, and the racing, was outstanding. They were using every inch of the track from top to bottom. I don’t know how it could any better than that, other than getting rid of all the aero downforce of the cars.

The last ten laps was a little less exciting, but still, Moran was making a great charge forward right up next to the wall. A few more laps and he might have won the race.

    I agree Driver50x,

Most of the race last night was classic East Bay.

Hudson O’Neal just won his heat, then I think he got DQ’d for droop. The tech guys were looking at his LR for a long time.
