Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series Gears Up for Tri-County, Crossville, Clarksville Triple Shot

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) On the heels of a wildly successful weekend in series events at Wythe (VA) Raceway and Tazewell (TN) Speedway, which were won by national stars Brandon Overton and Chris Madden respectively, the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will now gear up for a huge tripleheader from April 21-23 in the states of North Carolina and Tennessee. Up first will be a trip to Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track this Thursday night for a $4,053 to win shootout. Past series winners at the track dubbed as the “Tiger Pit” include Casey Roberts ('13), Mike Marlar ('14), Donald McIntosh ('19), and David Payne ('21).

Another $4,053 top prize will then be on the line on Friday evening in a visit to Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee. The Volunteer State oval has hosted four past Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series shows, which were won by Ricky Weiss ('17), Michael Chilton ('18), Donald McIntosh ('19), and Dale McDowell ('21). The third and final contest of the weekend will take place on Saturday at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee and a $10,053 winner’s check will be up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. The Spring Nationals tour made their debut at Clarksville last year and Tanner English walked away with the five-figure payday ahead of a top five that included runner-up Jadon Frame, Donald McIntosh, Dale McDowell, and David Seibers.

At Tri-County Race Track on Thursday, April 21, the pit gates will open at 3:00pm and the grandstand gates will start to allow fans into the venue at 4:00pm. The Driver’s Meeting is scheduled to take place at 6:00pm with hot laps starting promptly at 6:30pm. Grandstand admission into the Brasstown bullring is $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids ages 11-16. Pit admission for adults is $35.00, while kids ages 11-16 will be admitted into the pit area for only $20.00. As always, children ages 10 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.

Along with the Super Late Models, Thursday’s event at Tri-County will also feature the Front Wheel Drive ($800 to win), 602 Modified Street ($400 to win), Open Wheel Modified ($400 to win), and Street Stock ($300 to win) divisions. It will also be the first points night of the 2022 season for all local classes. Tri-County Race Track is located at 10456 Old U.S. 64 in Brasstown, North Carolina 28902. On Friday, April 22 at Crossville Speedway, the pit gates will swing open at 3:00pm and the grandstand gates will start to allow patrons into the facility at 4:00pm. The Driver’s Meeting will take place at 6:30pm and hot laps will take to the racetrack at 7:00pm. Adult admission is $20.00 into the grandstand and tier parking, while adult pit admission will be $40.00. Seniors will be allowed into the stands for only $15.00 and kids 10 and under are admitted for FREE with a paying adult.

In addition to the Super Late Models on the racing card will be the 604 Crate Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman Late Models, Super Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Dwarfs. The third and final event of the weekend will take center stage at Clarksville Speedway on Saturday, April 23. Both the pit gates and the grandstands will open at 4:00pm with hot laps scheduled for 6:00pm and racing at 7:30pm. General admission will be $25.00 for adults, $23.00 for Military, $20.00 for Seniors 65 and older, $10.00 for Kids ages 11-15, $5.00 for Kids ages 6-10, and FREE for children 5 and under. Pit admission will be $45.00 for adults, $35.00 for Kids ages 3-10, and FREE for those children under 3 years of age.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds of the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals tour this weekend will feature a complete show of FK Rod Ends qualifying, consolation events, and main events, while the Clarksville Speedway program will also include heat races. The Super Late Model tire rule will be Hoosier 1350 or 1600 on all four corners; American Racer 48 or 56 on all four corners. Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among many others. The entry fee will be $100.00 and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money.
