Default Lucas Oil Weekend Rained Out

I feel bad for those that like to go to these races because it seems to get rained out every year. I can’t remember the last time Macon had a Lucas race. Was it 2018-2019?

It was 18. Me and a buddy drove out 6hrs and back 6hrs in the same day. We've planned to do the same thing every year since, but it's rained out every time.

Just now getting light rain @ Tri City. Looks like it will be out of the area by 6:30.

The only thing I can think of in favor of LOLMDS is that with the price of fuel and the cost to tote the big boys haulers any distance, and the big names are why you go….they are going to error on the side of caution. Yes….it appears it was a little early to call on Granite, but you have to step back and look at the whole picture.

They called them off last year early in the week and it didn't rain at either place the entire weekend. If high fuel prices are going to cause those rainouts, then why schedule it to begin with? If a team is running a national tour, then said team can afford the fuel cost. If they can't, maybe try a regional tour or an independent schedule.

No more rain in sight. Looks like a good night gone to waste.

I feel like there definitely more to the cancelation of these races than just weather.

Aside from tire issues and fuel costs, I think Lucas Oil has taken on a philosophy, especially the last several years, that instead of scheduling to allow for rain dates, they cram the schedule as full as possible, then just cancel altogether the races that get rained out. This probably helps some tracks and hurts others, especially ones with dates that are questionable from year to year.

Received an email that my subscription with MavTVplus has been cancelled. So relieved to dump that joke of a company. They even screwed up the way to cancel on the website. My advice to all is to stay clear of this clown show.
