Duck River Raceway Park Now Set to Close Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Tour on May 29

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series officials are excited to announce the addition of Duck River Raceway Park to the tour schedule, as the miniseries now plans to wrap up the season at the Wheel, Tennessee facility on Sunday, May 29! Only a day removed from revealing the cancellation of Memorial Day weekend events at Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway, along with the rescheduling of the Boyd’s Speedway date to Saturday, May 28, the promoters at Duck River Raceway Park stepped up today to host the Spring Nationals finale. A $5,053 winner’s check will be on the line on Sunday, May 29 at the Volunteer State venue out of a $20,413 total Super Late Model purse.

It has been several years, but the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series has visited DRRP two times in the past. National stars Tim McCreadie (2013) and Dale McDowell (2014) both picked up series victories at Duck River Raceway Park in successive years. When the Spring Nationals tour rolls back into the track on Sunday, May 29, three drivers will be eligible to claim the $10,053 Championship spoils. Carson Ferguson currently leads the heated standings with 1296 points, while Payton Freeman (1274) and Cla Knight (1272) follow shortly behind in the point tally.

Along with the ground-pounding Super Late Models on the eleven division racing card, the 604 Late Models ($1,000 to win), 602 Late Models ($1,000 to win), CRUSA Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,000 to win), Pure Pony ($1,000 to win), CRUSA Street Stocks ($800 to win), Mod Lites ($750 to win), Modified Street ($600 to win), Factory Stock ($600 to win), Dwarf ($400 to win), and FWD/Rookie ($300 to win) classes will also be in action. The pit gates will swing open at 2:00pm and the grandstands will open at 3:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 4:00pm with hot laps starting at 4:30pm. Racing action at Duck River Raceway Park is slated to get underway at 6:00pm and all of the competition will be shown LIVE to subscribers on FloRacing.

The addition of Duck River Raceway Park to the schedule sets up a lucrative tripleheader over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will visit Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia on Friday, May 27 for a $4,053 to win throwdown before making the trip to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia on Saturday, May 28 for a $5,053 to win program.
