Default Week of Indy May 25-26 @ Circle City Raceway USAC National Sprints

USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship Returns to Circle City May 25th-26th

(Indianapolis, IN) One of the biggest weeks in racing will see the return of some of the greatest wheelmen on dirt making their second appearance at Circle City Raceway. Circle City, which opened for its inaugural season last year, brought the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship back to Indianapolis for the first time in 37 years. The series will slide its way back into the Indianapolis dirt for two exciting days of racing, presented by Mastin and Cain Warehousing Services, Wednesday-Thursday, May 25th-26th during the week of Indy.
These two shows will carry on the long-standing week of Indy traditions like the Hoosier Hundred and the Hulman Classic, races that have been a staple of USAC racing for more than 65 years. With some of the greatest modern stars in the sport at Indy’s newest track, a tradition like no other will continue to prevail.

Last year, Tanner Thorson dominated the field after squeezing his way through a major collision in turn 2 on lap 11. Thorson then went on to lead, in comfortable fashion, the next 19 laps to take home his fifth and final win of his 2021 season. Far behind Thorson was 2nd place driver Chris Windom who spent much of the final laps holding off 3rd place finisher Jake Swanson. Thorson will look to repeat at Circle City and bring a bright spark to his 2022 campaign.

The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship will have an exciting schedule leading up to its return to Circle City as they move east from Kansas City to the Hoosier state with five great races. Rookie sensation, 𝐸𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝐴𝑥𝑠𝑜𝑚 remains at the top of the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship points. Axsom is followed by USAC drivers Justin Grant and Chase Stockon. A fierce battle is expected around the tight quarter-mile, as the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship makes its second trip to the newly formed Circle City Raceway.

Also joining the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship, will be the Sherley Unlimited Snow Company LLC DIRTcar Modifieds, as well as an appearance on Wednesday night by the Midwest Oldtimers Club.

A great two days of racing is expected in southeast Indy for a week that brings incredible racing action to the epicenter of motorsports.
Pits will open at 3:00pm, followed by grandstands at 5:30pm, with hot laps beginning at 6:00pm, and racing to follow.

Tickets will be available at the gate on race day and are $25 for adult general admission, $20 for seniors, veterans, military, first responders, and teachers with ID. Kids tickets are $10 for ages 9-12 and kids 8 and under are free.

After a valiant effort by Circle City Raceway, USAC, and Track Enterprises officials to try and work the track in, it was decided it was in the best interest of safety for drivers to postpone the Wednesday night event at Circle City Raceway.

Rainfall hit the speedway at 6:10 and it continued to rain until after 7:00. With skies clearing, it was decided to give it an attempt to move forward with the program.

Unfortunately, the grounds, not only in the pits, but on the track itself were too wet to even safely push off a car.

Those with tickets and wristbands are asked to keep them for the Thursday, May 26 show. We appreciate those who came out to the track and their patience as we attempted to race.

Rain Claims Both Days of Circle City Raceway Doubleheader
(Indianapolis, IN) For the second straight day, Circle City Raceway became a victim of rainfall, forcing the cancelation of the Thursday, May 26 Week Of Indy USAC event.
The two-day show, featuring the USAC/AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship and Sherley Unlimited Snow Company Modifieds, had both days washed out by rainfall. There will be no make-up date.
Those who had purchased Wednesday tickets and wristbands will be able to use them at the Monday, July 25 NOS Energy Indiana Sprint Week event at the track. Please keep them in a safe place to receive your full value.
The next USAC/AMSOIL Sprint Car event is scheduled for June 14 at Grandview Speedway in Pennsylvania. For Circle City Raceway, the next event is this Memorial Day Monday with the CJ Rayburn Stronger than Dirt Classic.
For anyone with questions or needing more information, please reach out to Circle City Raceway or Track Enterprises via Facebook or by phone during regular business hours.
