Tanner English Jumps Back on WOOLMS Tour Following Solid Illinois Speedweek

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) The four-race "Illinois Speedweek" kept the Riggs Motorsports team busy from May 11-14. Things kicked off in the Land of Lincoln with a pair of $22,022 to win Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series battles at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois and Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois. On Wednesday night at Spoon River, Tanner English placed third in his loaded heat race prior to advancing ten spots during the 50-lap feature to land on the podium in third behind only victor Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Mike Marlar. In the second round on Thursday at Lincoln, Tanner ran second in his heat race and later moved up to finish seventh in the 50-lapper.

The MARS Racing Series then took over the sanctioning duties over the weekend in a pair of lucrative events at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. At Farmer City on Friday evening in a $15,000 to win throwdown, Tanner ran sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and eighth in the 47-lap main event after passing fourteen competitors. In Saturday's speedweek finale at FALS, which boasted a $30,000 paycheck, Tanner placed fourth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twelfth in the 50-lap headliner. Complete results from all four "Illinois Speedweek" races can be found online at www.floseries.com and www.marsracingseries.com.

Tanner and his #81E team will jump right back into dirt-slinging action this weekend (May 19-21) with the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series in a tripleheader in the Keystone State. The first of three $10,000 to win events will take place later tonight at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Next up will be a visit to Marion Center Raceway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania on Friday evening before the triple shot wraps up on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. Tanner is currently third in the national series point standings - only 128 markers out of the top spot which is currently occupied by Dennis Erb, Jr.

Teammate Jason Riggs will also be in competition this upcoming weekend, as he plans to travel to the newly reopened Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday, May 20. The opening night at PIR will shell out a $2,500 payday for the Super Late Models. Jason used to be a regular early in his racing career at the high-banked Kentucky oval and finished as high as third in track point standings back in 2007.
