David Miller’s 34M added more points to a lead on the Park Jefferson International Speedway’s Q and Feather Again IMCA Hobby Stocks division Saturday, May 21.For the third time, Miller was an A Feature victor in the young 2022 campaign. After capturing Heat One to start his night, he and Florida native Joel Magee continued their heat battle in the feature. Miller held off Magee for the checkers, as Tyler Smith wound up third. Miller’s season-point advantage over Magee expanded to 13 (158-145).Stockton Towing’s sponsored night of competition was good for season points leaders throughout. Sitting atop the JZ Diesel Modifieds division, Cody Thompson gained his third victory, with Shane DeMey crossing the line in second. Thompson’s win kept him seven points in front of DeMey (159-152). At the same time, Taylor Brown was a feature champion for the second time in the Fox 620 Sports Compacts. Brown stayed better than 15 points in front of Jordan Runge, who was second. Vermillion’s Karl Brewer knocked off SportMods points leader Rusty Montagne, seeking a third feature triumph after being a Heat One winner. Sloan’s Wally Kirk placed fifth and remained second on the point standings.Sioux City’s Sid Mosher continues to be a compelling story in the J&J Fitting Stock Cars division. Despite not having an A Feature victory on his resume, he kept his season points advantage as four drivers stood within 10 points of each other at evening’s end. Devin Tripp of Sioux Rapids was the feature winner, with Mosher winding up fifth.PJIS’ evening was highlighted by the Midwest Classic Stock Car Association on southeastern South Dakota soil. A former champion at several southwestern Iowa tracks, Pete Rasmussen, rallied from a third-place heat finish to win the feature.
