Mars Racing Eyes Mississippi Thunder Special on Heels of First Victory of 2022 Season!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his famed #28 team celebrated in victory lane for the first time in 2022 last Saturday, May 21 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin! Piloting his familiar MB Customs Late Model, Jimmy won his heat race in preliminary action and later led the last half of the weekly main event. At the checkers, Jimmy bested runner-up Darrell Nelson, Pat Doar, James Giossi, and Jake Redetzke to collect the $1,250 payday!

In Open Wheel Modified competition at CLS, Jimmy moved up four spots during his heat race to land in the fourth finishing position. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the $700 to win headliner, the Menomonie, Wisconsin star was able to steer past four more competitors on his way to a third place podium effort behind only victor Cory Mahder and runner-up Cory Williams. Full results from Cedar Lake Speedway can be accessed by logging onto www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

“Any time you can reach Cedar Lake victory lane, it’s definitely cool and something you cherish,” stated Mars following his 56th career Late Model win at the nearby speedway. “Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten to race a lot this year with the poor weather and being so busy with customer cars, but hopefully we can get out and start running a little more once the calendar flips to June. I’ve got to thank all of our great sponsors for their continued support, as well as my crew and the guys at the shop for their hard work and dedication!”

The Mars Racing team will enjoy the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend away from the racetrack, as Jimmy’s son Sam Mars celebrates his high school graduation. Next up for the team is scheduled to be a visit to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin next Friday, June 3. The Dirt Kings Late Model Series will roar into MTS next weekend to sanction the ‘Stars & Stripes 40,’ which boasts a $5,000 top prize Additional information concerning this show can be found online by clicking on www.mississippithunder.com.
