It turns the unsprung weight into sprung weight on the other corners of the car. Lifting the LF makes it a counter weight to resist loading the RR on exit and it loads the LR more, as it's the only wheel now carrying the left side's weight.
It tightens exit generally and may loosen entry depending on how the corner is driven. It is an old road course trick.
