SPRING CITY, TN – The Cumberland Plateau Open-Wheel Series rolls into Mountain View Raceway this Saturday night for a special $1,500-to-win 30-lap Feature Race. There will also be Weekly Point Races for the Late Model, Sportsman, 4-Cylinder, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions.

The Developmental Sportsman Division will also be in action on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval, and five drivers will also enter the Mountain View Raceway Fan Zone after they Hot Lap to Meet and Greet the race fans around the Victory Lane area.

Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY is the Cumberland Plateau Open-Wheel Series point leader after winning the first two races of the season. Amos Bunch of Wartburg, TN is second in the standings, and Robby Reagan of Crossville, TN is third. Tony Garber of Murfreesboro, TN is fourth and Matthew Hopper of Lancing, TN rounds out the top five in the standings.

Jimmy Dalton of Powell, TN is the Mountain View Raceway Open-Wheel Modified point leader, and other top entries in the top five of the track point standings include the defending track champion Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN, Kyle Shadden of Dayton, TN, Scott Iles of Evensville, TN, and David Lester of Rockwood, TN.

The Cumberland Plateau Open-Wheel Series race was originally going to pay $1,200-to-win. An anonymous donor handed a track official an extra $300 to put on first-place to bring it up to $1,500-to-win and challenged other to add to the Open-Wheel Modified purse for this Saturday night.

Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN is the Late Model point leader in quest of his fourth Track Championship. Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN is the Sportsman Division point leader. Landon Fitzgerald and Nathan Davis of Madisonville, TN share the 4-Cylinder Division point lead. Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN leads the Thunder Division standings and Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN is the Front-Wheel-Drive point leader.

Tyler Norwood of Athens, TN in the #72 Stacey Suttles Trucking Mastersbilt, Crystal Harper of Decatur, TN in the #17 Williams Concrete and Construction Pierce, Zoe Crabtree of Rockwood, TN in the #88 Crabtree Racing Rocket, Bradley Scarboro of Crossville, TN in the #57 Scarboro Racing Special and Johnny Vanover of Harriman, TN in the Vanover Racing Special will be the five Developmental Sportsman drivers in the Fan Zone to Meet and Greet the race fans.

Contingency Connection Racer Rewards, worth over $4,000 in Motorsports Products and Equipment Product Certificates, will be awarded to the Hard Charger in each Feature Race in each Division this Saturday night. The Hard Charger Award goes to the driver that improves their position the most from their assigned starting position to where they finish.

Mountain View Raceway is one of 50 Contingency Connection selected race tracks and racing series, and the only track in East Tennessee, which represents many motorsports vendors offering contingency awards to drivers during the 2022 racing season. Mountain View Raceway, through the Contingency Connection Program, will award over $100,000 in Special and Racer Rewards.

This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand and Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. The Mandatory Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m. and Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m.

Pit Passes are $30 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
