Tanner English Secures Pair of Runner-Up Finishes Against Summer Nationals Foes!

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) Tanner English, of Benton, Kentucky, competed in a trio of $10,000 to win DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdowns in Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee from June 30-July 2. On Thursday night at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, Tanner earned Fast Time honors of the 30 entrants during the qualifying session and later placed second in his heat race. He then moved up two spots during the course of the 50-lapper and battled for the win late in the distance before settling for a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Shannon Babb!

At Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday evening in a similar "Hell Tour" contest, Tanner clicked off the quickest lap in his group during time trials, won his heat race, and later placed second in the 30-lap feature behind only race winner Bobby Pierce. In the weekend finale on Saturday at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee, yet another $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Tanner ran third in his loaded heat race and after a rain delay, he was able to advance up to eighth in the 40-lap headliner.

Jack made his Super Late Model debut on Tuesday, June 28 in finishing eighteenth in a $5,000 to win series race at the newly reopened Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Illinois. After a B-Main incident took him out of contention for a transfer spot in Thursday's visit to Fayette County (IL) Speedway, Jack wound up eighteenth in the final rundown on Friday at PIR. His brother Jason was also in action at Paducah, as he placed second in his heat race before nabbing a solid ninth place effort in the 30-lapper.
