Default Finisher of 1st world 100 passes.

Condolences go out to the man's family that finished 13 at the 1st World 100 at Eldora Wayne "Waco" Watercutter. He passed this morning at 77 years young. He raced NASCAR Cup at Daytona and Atlanta and Pocono as well as finished 3rd in Arca points and ran and won ARCA races as well. He also raced at many tracks around the Midwest.

Most all of his career was in ARCA, USAC, and a few NASCAR and ASA events.

Raj, Wayne didn't actually win the World 100, he was just one of the drivers that drove in the event. He was caught up in a crash that took him out in the feature.

On lap 16, Smith’s sprint to the front came to an abrupt end in the event's worst accident when 21-year old Rodney Combs dropped a driveshaft from the Jim Stall Chevelle in turn three. Smith, a 21-year racing veteran, ran over the errant driveshaft, turning his machine sideways and in the process was T-boned by Sommers. This triggered a multicar crash involving Moore, Latham, Jay Wyatt in the Hoot Gibson Ford, Billy Teegarden in Frank Ruth’s Chevrolet, Wayne Watercutter in the Ward Racing Chevelle and Ohio runner Carl Poole

It was actually the very first World 100 in which Bruce Gould won.

After his ASA and Arca and Nascar days he ran Shadybowl Columbus and Kilkare in the Super Late, Sportsman, and Emod divisions. He was also a spotter and team manager for Josh Baltes and his ARCA Team in 1998. He was a great guy and very well liked. He raced for Mike Meeker in the 1990's to 2010 or so. He also made an Arca truck start at the ONA Speedway in West Virginia when it was dirt.
