I don't follow either driver, so my opinion is genuinely unbiased. It's true Winger was hyper aggressive, but it a appeared to me that the 51 was trying to wreck him for several laps. That being said, if I'm Winger's car owner and someone drives him like that, and he DOESN'T get out of the car and try to whip his A$$, then I'd fire him on the spot. Not condoning crew running on the track, but that's easy to say watching a video. When you're a crew member and you see someone do your driver that way, your legs just start moving & all rationale leaves your brain, and you just want to hit something or somebody. Don't ask me how I know.

Winger has a brake pedal he chose not to use it. He had already ran over Millwood took him out. I've seen many go over the backstretch at Phenix city. At some point you have to lift or just take the consequences.

So your stance is that Ashton should slow down and let people pass him? Now you sound like a Moyer! Nobody with a brain could blame that incident on Winger, especially not after McCarter ran him clear off the track so many times and Ashton kept passing him cleanly.

If you think this was Winger's fault, you weren't paying attention. He may be an idiot as some said, but this one was not his fault. Could he have lifted, yes. But that's like saying he could have stayed home and avoided the wreck. This one is on the 51.

That's an easy call 15 laps to go and they were battling for the lead an 51 wrecked winger that is easy to see

A few days ago It was questionable in my mind if Putnam chopped dohm. I could barely see any contact after watching video many times. This one is very obvious and winger should be pis*ed off

Can we stop with tracks that don't have outside walls? How many cars have we seen flip violently because they went over the egde?

Let me clarify…I’m not blaming the incident on Winger at all…Winger getting run off the track and the wild ride that ensued from it was undoubtedly the result of McCarter dooring him. So the incident there is 100% on McCarter. I was simply making 2 separate but somewhat related comments in one post, one of which was to say that after the contact with Millwood Winger started driving a bit wilder…he was the fastest car on the track without a doubt, but he couldn’t seem to keep the car under control…albeit I was as impressed as anybody to see him drive it back up on the track like he did twice.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything as blatant as this. Lap after lap after lap. McCarter should be banned from the series for a year or two.
And what was up with Millwood ?

jr29…I’m not sure what Millwood’s deal was. But I live in the area that he races in quite a bit, and to be honest I wasn’t surprised to see the way he was driving. He’s turned it to a mid-pack racer come feature time, but it seems like when he gets up front every now and then and starts getting a little taste, he starts driving like he did last night. I recall a comment a few years back (don’t remember the track) where Dale McDowell called him out on it…not by name, but if you had watched the race everybody knew who Dale was talking about.

To be clear, I wasn't blaming Winger here either. I was just stating from McCarter's point of view he probably got tired of the sliders but heck, that's just a part of racing. I was starting to like Winger earlier in the race for the way he did run Millwood. That was pure karma for Millwood as he ran Henderson the exact same way. Your average driver wouldn't have made a save coming back onto the track like Winger did a couple of times. I was especially shocked he saved it that 2nd time as his car literally almost went completely airborne coming back over the brim.

How so? The race was not at that track or with that series.

Either the 51 was driving over his skill level, or he purposely escorted the 22 off the back straight. Either way….this one’s on the 51. I watched the video several times, I have no dog in the fight. The 22 could have attacked in a different line as he knew he’d been punted once already on the extreme outside, but it’s easy to judge from a keyboard. It was exciting, that’s a fact. Glad nobody was seriously hurt except pride and checkbook.

Says two members of Team 22 Inc. will now be allowed in the infield pits for the next two races. I assume one of those two will be Ashton's dad.
