With FALS being off, this could be a pretty stout LM field. And sprint cars, too...

July 21, 2022 (Canton, IL) With forecasted temperatures on Saturday around 100℉ and heat indices between 105℉ and 110℉, Spoon River Speedway officials have made the decision to postpone the 35th Annual Tom Knowles Memorial.
“The safety of our drivers, workers and fans alike is of utmost importance”, said SRS Promoter Brad Denney.
The event will now take place on September 17, moving the event back to its normal fall-time race date. The Morrow Brothers Ford, Inc. Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Sprint Car Series and MARS Racing Series Late Models will run for $3,000 to win. DIRTcar Racing UMP Modifieds will close out their six-race Modified Challenge series with a $3,000 to win race. E/B Mods will race for $1,000 to win and lastly the USAC/IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets will battle for a $1,500 top prize in the annual running of the Hull/Trone Memorial.
Spoon River Speedway will sit dormant for one more week, on July 31, due to the Fulton County Fair. Racing action will resume on August 6 with Kids Back Pack Night and the running of the Greg Gilmore Memorial.

Yup, I actually wasn’t going to go because of the heat. Kinda happy to see it postponed.

Heat can get the best of you, especially the older you get. I'd rather race with snow flakes flying than in high temps/humidity.
