NASCAR Street Race in Chicago 2023
Okay, being from Wisconsin I'm a bit of a homer on this but, what a ridiculous decision by big N. The last couple years of the Cup cars at Road America were huge in attendance and RA is a great road course, if you like road course racing. The story I seen about the Chicago street race showed two rectangles connected at the corners and basically - sucks.
The Chicago market for racing has been terrible for NASCAR. They tried a track in Cicero for a couple truck races and that one was in a terrible part of town but now almost all of Chicago is a terrible part of town. The track in Joliet hasn't hosted a race in a couple years now so where is all this interest in NASCAR around the Chicago market? How will they make this more interesting to Chicago fans? Incorporate drive by shootings into the race?
Wonder if they will let butt ugly Lori Lightfoot wave the green, but not apologize for it like when they apologized for letting Greg Abbott wave the green at the All Star race in Texas. Because, what used to be one of the biggest forms of motorsports in this country is now run by a bunch of woke millenials running it into the ground and sh!tting on the fans who got them their success.
Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.
