Penultimate Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series Event Switches to Boyd’s Speedway on July 29

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Following four exciting rounds of Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals action, series officials have been forced to make a last minute schedule change today for the penultimate event of the twelve-race miniseries. Crossville Speedway has opted not to host the scheduled $10,053 to win showdown on Friday night, July 29, but an area track quickly scooped up the available date. Round eleven of the tour will now take us to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia on that Friday and a $10,053 payday will still be up for grabs out of a $30,000+ Super Late Model purse.

Boyd’s Speedway has hosted six previous Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series showdowns and the following drivers have emerged victorious: Randy Weaver ('14), Casey Roberts ('15), David Payne ('16), Brandon Overton ('17), Vic Hill ('18), and Sam Seawright ('21). Seawright captured a $4,053 top prize last year in a great race over a top five that included runner-up Donald McIntosh, Dale McDowell, Jadon Frame, and Cody Overton. So far in the four Southern Nationals events held in 2022, Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Dale McDowell and series point leader Cory Hedgec0ck have two wins apiece!

“We are extremely thankful that the staff at Boyd’s Speedway was able to pull this off with such short notice,” stated series owner Ray Cook today via telephone. “I hate to make schedule changes this late in the game, but Crossville Speedway approached us about getting out of the date a few days ago and fortunately Boyd’s stepped up. We look forward to working with Crossville Speedway again in 2023.”

Boyd’s Speedway would like to especially thank Michael Robinette and the Topless Outlaws Series for working with the track to move the date of their race, which was originally scheduled for July 29. A new date for the Topless Outlaws Series visit will be announced by Boyd’s officials very soon. Keep up-to-date on Facebook or at www.BoydsSpeedway.com.

On Friday evening, July 29 at Boyd’s Speedway, the pit gates will swing open at 4:00pm, while the grandstands will open an hour later at 5:00pm. The Drivers Meeting will commence at 7:15pm with hot laps taking to the racetrack promptly at 7:30pm. Joining the ground-pounding Super Late Models at the storied Chattanooga-area facility will be the 604 Late Models ($1,500 to win), 602 Late Models ($1,200 to win), Front Wheel Drives ($500 to win), B-Hobby ($400 to win), Crown Vics ($200 to win), and Beginner Sportsman ($150 to win).

Adult admission into the grandstands will be $25.00, while adults will be admitted into the pit area for $45.00. Kids ages 6-12 will be allowed into the stands for only $10.00 and into the pits for only $20.00. Those children ages 5 and under can enter the Boyd’s Speedway grounds for FREE.

The Super Late Model tire rule will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 or American Racer 48 and 56 on the right front, left rear, and right rear, while the left front will be totally open. There will be no limit on the amount of tires you can use at Boyd’s Speedway.

Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among many others. The entry fee will be $100.00 and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money. As has been the case during the last few years, ALL of the series events will be broadcast LIVE to subscribers of FloRacing!
