What do you mean the town isn’t friendly to events at the fairgrounds?!
-

Davenport and the Quad City area is hungry for SLM events The fan base is huge and believe me the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds can accommodate an elite event. I understand a new concession stand and sky boxes are being planned to enhance the facility in the future.

I feel the same as Husker for the same reasons. Not "blowing" up here. It's just something the Kosiski's started and won't be the same anywhere else. Remember when Covid was a bigger deal and there was talk on here about moving the World 100 elsewhere since Ohio would not allow large gatherings. Same difference in my opinion. Wouldn't be the same anywhere else. I-80 speedway is a track that will never be duplicated. Something about that track that the Kosiski's had perfected. I never saw a bad race there. Super sad to see it go, but the Kosiski's deserve to enjoy life after what they've given to racing. They can move it wherever they want to, but it won't be the same.

Agree Maestro. Won’t be same as I-80. Loved that place. Just feel it would do better in Eastern Iowa. However current tire issues are now cancelling shows. Hopefully we don’t have issues for the big 3 day show.

Going to Osky next Monday for the Front Row Challenge. Awesome place.

Those would be way down the list for an event of this magnitude.

Outside of Lucas Oil Speedway or Knoxville is there a track in the eastern part of the Great Plains or that area that can hold an event of that magnitude?
I know Boone has the pit space and land; but are there other tracks that are a possibility?

I don't think Boone has enough seats for an event of this magnitude.
Lucas Oil Speedway and Knoxville could certainly handle this type of event.
-
Davenport Speedway could easily host the event.
-
It’s not going to go to a track that already currently holds a Lucas “crown jewel” event such as Knoxville or Lucas oil speedway.
-
I think the racers would form a union and protest if they scheduled another race at Lucas Oil speedway.

#33 zyoung25: why do racers not want more races in wheatland mo?

Hopefully it goes to Davenport. That place rocks!

Curfew at Davenport would be an issue.

I 70 would be a great place but the way they blew the first Lucas race there I wonder.
-
eldora already has 2 crown jewels. everyone has been there, done that. i've watched husets on flo and it looks like a neat place, but it is far away and i don't think it is late model country. davenport is closer, plus it would be a lot less driving for the race teams.

The majority of the drivers love the amenities that Lucas Oil Speedway provides.

Number of seats could be another potential issue. While the grandstands are big, they do not hold near as many as some of the bigger facilities.
With that being said, the Kay's would be great hosts for the event. They have done wonders with that facility.
