Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag to Fly Again at 2023 Wild West Shootout
Mega Event Set for January 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, & 15, 2023 at Vado Speedway Park

VADO, N.M. (August 2, 2022) — The 17th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts will once again see the Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag flying at each break in the red-hot racing action at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway.

This marks the fourth year that the Missouri-based company has sponsored the caution flag at the mega miniseries, which for 2023 spans January 7-15.

“Chris Davis is not only a great friend, who I know is always a phone call away, but he’s also an amazing supporter of racing. You see his company’s name at races all over the place, and if Chris isn’t at a race, he’s almost always tuned into the broadcast to keep up with what’s going on. He’s a true race fan at heart, and he goes out of his way to support our event in any-and-every possible way,” noted Wild West Shootout event manager Ben Shelton. “As much as Midwest Sheet Metal does to give back to racing, I truly hope racers and fans support the company whenever they can.”
Announcers will again identify every slowdown in the action over the six-race miniseries that stretches from January 7-15 as a Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag.
Chris, who alongside his wife Jan, operates the second-generation, family-owned Springfield, Missouri company. Midwest Sheet Metal specializes in the design and custom fabrication of carbon steel, stainless and aluminum products.

“It’s a lot of fun to hear our company’s name mentioned so many times during such a big event, and it seems like whenever I go to a race these days at least a few folks recognize me and talk about our sponsorship of the caution flag at the Wild West Shootout, so that’s pretty cool. The Wild West Shootout comes at a great time every year for me,” Davis continued. “The weather around here (in Missouri’s Ozark Mountain Country) is usually pretty miserable that time of year, the holidays are over, and it gets dark at 5 in the evening, so there's not a lot that I can be doing at the farm at night. I think all of us racers are really missing our racing at this time of year, so this gives us something to look forward to.

“We have a lot of friends and customers, who race at the Wild West Shootout, and we enjoy supporting the event and helping it continue to grow.”

The 2023 edition of the event will be held on January 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, and 15 at the state-of-the-art, 3/8-mile oval, situated conveniently on I-10 between Las Cruces and El Paso.

Over $320,000 in prize money will be on the line during the 17th Annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts. The event includes six complete programs for three divisions.

Each night finds the Dirt Track Bank Super Late Models presented by Black Diamond Race Cars, Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Border Tire Modifieds, and RHRSwag.com X-Mods presented by Barnett Harley Davidson competing in action.

Additionally, an open practice session is slated for both January 6 and January 10.

Last but not least, each division will compete for a miniseries point’s championship and accompanying point fund.
