Tanner English on Podium in USA Nationals Prelim; Riggs Motorsports Invades PIR Tonight!

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) Tanner English and Riggs Motorsports made their way north to the Badger State to enter the 35th Annual 'USA Nationals' at Cedar Lake Speedway from August 4-6. Things kicked off at the renowned New Richmond, Wisconsin facility last Thursday night with a $6,000 to win World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series contest. Tanner grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the 30-lap main event. The Benton, Kentucky hotshoe then blasted past eleven competitors during the action-packed race to land on the podium in third behind only victor Mike Marlar and runner-up Brent Larson!

On Friday evening at Cedar Lake, a double set of qualifying heat races were held to help set the lineup for Saturday's $50,000 to win 'USA Nationals.' Tanner moved up to third in his first heat race of the night, while he also advanced to third in his second heat race. After later running seventh in the pole dash, Tanner earned the rights to the inside of the fourth row for the start of the 100-lap 'USA Nationals' on Saturday. He then fought hard for a top ten performance in the crown jewel extravaganza before winding up twelfth in the final finishing order. Complete results from Cedar Lake Speedway can be found online by clicking on www.woolms.com.

With the World of Outlaws tour sitting idle over the August 12-13 weekend, Tanner will take the opportunity to compete much closer to home. The ‘USA World 50’ will be held later tonight, August 12 at Paducah International Raceway and a $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Joining Tanner in action later this evening at the Paducah, Kentucky oval will be Riggs Motorsports teammates Jason Riggs and Jack Riggs. Additional information on the unsanctioned ‘USA World 50’ at PIR can be found online by clicking on www.paducahracing.com.
