Dennis Erb, Jr. Grabs USA Nationals Top Ten; Point Leader Readies for WOOLMS Triple Shot

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Current World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series point leader Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team invaded the Badger State from August 4-6 for the 35th edition of the 'USA Nationals' at Cedar Lake Speedway. The three-day weekend kicked off last Thursday night with a $6,000 to win series contest at the renowned New Richmond, Wisconsin facility. Dennis clicked off the third quickest lap in Group A during qualifying before getting shuffled back to third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in the 30-lap sprint, Dennis steered past four competitors en route to an impressive fifth place outing behind only race winner Mike Marlar, Brent Larson, Tanner English, and Brandon Sheppard!

At Cedar Lake on Friday evening, a double set of qualifying heat races were held to help set the lineup for Saturday's $50,000 to win 'USA Nationals.' Dennis placed eighth in his first heat race of the night, while he ran fourth in his final prelim. When the action resumed on Saturday, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace finished sixth in his B-Main and later relied on a series provisional to gain access into the 100-lap headliner. During the crown jewel spectacular, Dennis picked off seventeen racecars to salvage a steady eighth place performance in the extra-distance affair. The Dennis Erb Racing team will enjoy a rare weekend away from the racetrack on August 12-13, but will be busy in the race shop as they prepare for an upcoming tripleheader with the World of Outlaws. The national touring series will take Dennis to Pennsylvania and Ohio from August 19-21 for a trio of shootouts - each of which will boast a $10,000 top prize.

Up first will be a visit to the historic Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday before the team heads to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio on Saturday. The triple shot will then conclude on Sunday with a trip to Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Dennis currently sports a 164 point lead on second place Tanner English in the latest version of the WOOLMS point tally.
