Brandon Kinzer Claims Pair of Runner-Up Finishes; Makes First Port Royal Trip this Weekend

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) After over a month away from the racetrack - in part due to inclement weather at area tracks - Brandon Kinzer and Kinzer Motorsports competed in a pair of Open Wheel Modified programs over the August 19-20 weekend in the Volunteer State. On Friday night in a weekly show at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee, Brandon earned Fast Time honors in qualifying and ran second throughout the entire feature distance. At the end of the 20-lap contest, BK found himself trailing only $500 victor Chris Wilson.

At Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, Tennessee on Saturday evening, a $1,200 top prize was up for grabs with the Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series. Brandon knocked down the eighth quickest time overall during qualifying to earn the outside of the fourth row for the start of the A-Main. The Kentucky-turned-Florida native then got up on the wheel and blasted all the way up to the second spot on lap 14 before the rain hit. Unfortunately, the feature was rain-shortened and Brandon was forced to settle for another runner-up performance. Complete results from both venues can be found online at www.crossvillespeedway.net and www.wartburgspeedway.net.

The #18 team will now make the long tow to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on August 26-27 for a pair of Open Wheel Modified events during the ‘Rumble by the River.’ The Mid-Atlantic Modifieds will sanction a pair of $1,500 to win events on Friday and Saturday as the undercard for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. This will mark Brandon’s first-ever visit to Port Royal Speedway and you can watch all of the action LIVE on FloRacing.
