Jimmy Mars Repeats in WISSOTA 100 for $10,000 Victory; Huge Red Cedar Weekend Ahead!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Menomonie, Wisconsin Hall of Famer Jimmy Mars repeated in the annual 'WISSOTA 100' on Saturday night, September 17 at I-94 Sure Step Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to reach the double digit win mark for his 2022 campaign! Jimmy, who secured a heat race triumph and a preliminary feature victory on Thursday evening, rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 40-lap grand finale that was actually held in the wee hours of Sunday morning due to heavy rain showers.

The popular driver known as the "Iceman" was the class of the WISSOTA Late Model field in leading each and every circuit to pocket the $10,000 payday for his tenth triumph of the year over runner-up Don Shaw, Pat Doar, Cole Searing, and Chad Becker! Complete results from the action-packed 'WISSOTA 100' weekend can be accessed online by clicking on www.i94speedways.com.

“It was a great weekend for our Mars Racing team and everyone that supports our program,” quoted Mars this week via telephone. “The rain threw a little wrench into things, but our car had speed each time it took to the racetrack. It’s awesome to win a race like the WISSOTA 100 two years in a row. Hopefully we can keep things going into the big weekend at Red Cedar Speedway. We will have a lot of family and friends there, so maybe we can put on a good show for them!”

The 6th Annual ‘Mahder 55’ will kick off a huge weekend at nearby Red Cedar Speedway later tonight, September 22. The rain-postponed race at the Menomonie, Wisconsin oval will shell out a $5,555 top prize this evening. The 42nd Annual ‘Punky Manor Challenge of Champions’ will then be held over the weekend at RCS. Heat races will be held on Friday night, September 23, while the consolation races and the $4,500 to win headliner are slated for Saturday evening, September 24. Jimmy has won both of these special events on multiple occasions and will look to add to his impressive resume throughout the weekend!
