Rod Conley Tackles Jackson 100; CMI Gears Up for Atomic Speedway Visit Tonight!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Rod Conley and his #71R team were in action at the legendary Brownstown Speedway on September 23-24, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the 43rd Annual 'Jackson 100' at the 1/4-mile Brownstown, Indiana oval. On Friday night in the $10,000 to win weekend opener, Rod timed in fourteenth fastest in Group A during qualifying before placing seventh in his loaded heat race and third in his B-Main. He then started from the inside of the eleventh row in the 40-lap feature, which was pushed back to late Saturday afternoon due to persistent rain showers. "Hot Rod" steered past eight competitors during the daytime race to land in the thirteenth finishing position.

A $20,000 paycheck was then up for grabs on Saturday evening in the 'Jackson 100.' Rod ran eighth in his heat race and fourth in his B-Main, which unfortunately narrowly kept him out of the 100-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Tim McCreadie. Next up on the racing schedule for Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) will be a visit to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio tonight, September 28. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series will roll into the Chillicothe-area facility to preside over a $22,022 to win program. Both Rod and R.J. Conley are scheduled to be in action later this evening at the former K-C Raceway. Additional information on the midweek stop to Atomic Speedway can be found online at www.atomicspeedway.net.

Following tonight’s race in the Buckeye State, Rod Conley will venture alone to Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on Thursday, September 29. The 54th Annual ‘Hillbilly Hundred’ will be on tap tomorrow in the Mountaineer State and a whopping $30,000 top prize will be on the line. Each driver transferring into the 100-lapper will earn at least $1,200 in prize money. Rod won the 1997 version of the ‘Hillbilly Hundred,’ as he pocketed a $10,000 winner’s check with the defunct STARS series when the mega-event was held at Pennsboro (WV) Speedway.
