Busy Week Nets Dennis Erb, Jr. Top Five Finishes at Both Kokomo and Boyd’s

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing made their way to Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana on September 19-20 for the inaugural running of the 'Kokomo Dirt Nationals,' which was sanctioned by the XR Super Series. On that Monday night in the $20,000 to win opener, Dennis Erb, Jr. placed second in his heat race before eventually winding up eighteenth in the final finishing order of the 40-lap main event. At Kokomo on Tuesday evening in the finale, which boasted a whopping $40,000 paycheck, Dennis once again finished second in heat race action prior to climbing all the way up to fifth in the 60-lapper to trail only victor Tim McCreadie, Jonathan Davenport, Chris Madden, and Ricky Thornton, Jr.!

Following Kokomo, the #28 team dipped south to Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia over the September 23-24 weekend for the 'Stateline Showdown,' which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series. In Friday's $10,000 to win program, Dennis placed fifth in his loaded heat race, won his B-Main, and later vaulted past seven competitors during the 40-lap feature on his way to a steady tenth place effort. At Boyd's on Saturday in the $20,000 to win weekend finale, Dennis secured a heat race victory prior to racing hard for a strong fifth place performance in the 50-lap main event behind only victor Ryan Gustin, Dale McDowell, Kyle Bronson, and Chris Madden.

The Carpentersville, Illinois star still finds himself atop the heated World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings, as he sits 98 markers ahead of second place Tanner English. Full results from both Kokomo and Boyd’s can be found online by visiting www.racexr.com and www.woolms.com.

With the scheduled World of Outlaws doubleheader at Cherokee (SC) Speedway and Senoia (GA) Raceway on September 30-October 1 nixed by the impact of Hurricane Ian, Dennis will take the opportunity to race much closer to home. Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois will play host to the annual ‘Harvest Hustle’ this weekend, which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series. A $5,000 to win throwdown will be held later tonight, while a $7,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the weekend finale on Saturday.
