Tanner English Ready for FALS Frenzy After Securing Seventh Feature Win of Season!

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) Tanner English laid claim to his seventh feature win of 2022 last Friday night, September 30 in the 32nd Annual 'Fall Classic' opener at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky! Tanner earned Fast Time honors during Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series qualifying prior to securing a victory in his heat race. The Benton, Kentucky ace then led all forty circuits in the headliner to bag the $5,000 payday over a top five that included runner-up Ryan Gustin, Josh Rice, Mike Marlar, and Victor Lee!

A day later, a $10,088 top prize was on the line at Ponderosa Speedway on Saturday evening, October 1 in the conclusion of the 'Fall Classic' weekend. Tanner once again laid down the quickest lap overall during the qualifying session before winning his heat race. In the 50-lapper, Tanner was not quite able to sweep the weekend, but he did bring his #81E machine home in the runner-up spot behind only victor Mike Marlar! “It was a great weekend for our team at Ponderosa,” quipped English this week via telephone. “Our Longhorn Chassis was on point on Friday night and we had speed again on Saturday as well. I thought going into Saturday that we would have a good shot at a sweep, but Mike (Marlar) did his homework overnight and his car was exceptionally good in the finale. We will just keep working hard as a team and try to finish off the year on a strong note!”

Next up for Riggs Motorsports will be a visit to Fairbury Speedway on October 7-8 for a doubleheader dubbed as ‘FALS Frenzy.’ The MARS Racing Series will sanction the action at the downtown Fairbury, Illinois oval, which kicks off later tonight with a $5,000 to win throwdown. On Saturday night at FALS, the double-dip will be headlined by a 50-lap finale that boasts a $15,000 first place prize.
