    Default Dtwc 2023??

I wonder if Carl will move it next year. James has always announced during the dtwc at PRP that it will be back the next year, but he didn't say anything this year.

They also haven’t responded to the question when multiple people have asked on social media if it will return next year at PRP

We can only hope and pray that it will move away from PRP. Awful heats and feature this past weekend.

It's not only PRP. If they don't make some rule changes its only going to get worse. Set fast time, start on the pole of your heat, start up front for the feature. All the big tracks need to go smaller and figure out how to have a 2 groove racetrack. The big tracks have turned into aero tracks and the above senario is how you win today. The big tracks had few exciting races this year.

Why should the big tracks have to adjust. It’s the cars that are the problem. Let’s fix them.

Uhhhhh, portsmouth is a ⅓ mile track. I thought heats were ok. Lucas format sucks but everyone thinks they're best game in town. Having never been and always wanting to go I'll say wow that's a fast place. When guys next to wall they're putting on show. I would attend another show but likely not dtwc. Lucas sucks and took far too long Saturday to complete everything. Last race done like 1230 and started night at 6. Should been gone by 1030 easily

Kind of curious. Maybe a local could chime in. How is the weekly racing at PRP? I know a few tracks that produce great regional racing weekly but when the touring series come to town, the racing is not near as good. Sometimes it's not the track.

It's pretty much the same weekly too.I've got 2 of the best seats in the house for the DTWC , but I'm thinking strongly about not renewing them this year, and I've been to every dtwc at PRP.

I actually think Lawrenceburg deserves another shot, especially if you could get the casino across the street to put some money in thru the field, not only on top.

Portsmouth is where the famous " PASS in the GRASS " at a Renegade/ Stars race in 2010 occurred and in lives on in infamy ! ! It was so hard to make any pass because the bottom was the only fast lane on the track so in desperation " Bad Azz " Billy Drake dove inside of the boundary tires in turn 1 on the final lap to try to steal the lead. The savvy "Shoestring Traveler" Chub Frank not to be outdone returned the favor in turns 3 and 4 and won the feature race ! ! He figured that the old adage " What is good for the goose is good for the gander " in that few seconds that he had to think about it on the last straight stretch of the feature. . .It shouldn't come down to that on a track that is used for high profile events .

Does Lawrenceburg having enough room for 700 campers?
I have been there just to see the track- but not to an actual race.

If any track deserves another chance, it would be Atomic. Tons of improvements since it was KC Raceway. I've seen some of the best races there over the last 2-3 years. When I was there last month they had moved back the fence behind the grandstands. Supposedly they're going to replace the front stretch grandstands during the off season. Anyone who hasn't been there for 5 years needs to give it a try, vastly improved.

I would be perfectly fine with that.

Prp can race race good if it's had way too much water on it. The problem with it then is, it gets rough and dangerous. For a mid sized track, that place holds its own when it comes to speed. Today's cars are not meant to be raced on rough tracks at the speed they carry there.

In recent years it has become a train race. My recommendation would be to make a call to the King family. Florence typically produces two grooves once the track slicks off. Good rest rooms, plenty of motels and restaurants. Lawrenceburg didn't produce good racing when the DTWC was there. I personally think the purse should be cut to 50,000 to win and last place pay 5,000. to start. The cost of just getting to and from the track has gotten ridiculous. Id like to see every crown jewel event pay 10 percent of the first place winnings. The current economy is dictating changes if late model racing is to continue the way we know it today. Just my 2 cents worth.

Might as well take to brushcreek, heck run on original configuration.

Please explain to me how today's safer cars are not safe to race in rough conditions

$100,000 to win. $20,000 for second place. Might as well be called the Lottery 100. Spread the purse $$$ out more. Several other big paying races should do that, too.
