Default Interesting stat from Derek Kessinger for this season

I’ve seen several post and threads stating that Rocket Chassis is losing their luster. So I did some digging.

Counting all National Series races including Flo and XR

    Rocket 58 wins
    Longhorn 51
    Bloomquist 7
    Pierce 5
    Capital 5

thats a bit misleading since the falloff in competition on the outlaws, and the regulars on there being mostly rockets anyway

I remember a few years ago there were more builders with double digit wins. The sport has became pretty lopsided in the last couple years.

It’s not rockets fault that there aren’t more longhorns on the woo tour. Interesting stat.

I'd say that actually looks pretty bad for Rocket, when you consider the numbers.

What numbers you talking about, the amount of cars sold. WOO has lots of Rockets, Lucas has lots of Longhorns. Sorta like the old days when STARS had Rockets and Hav-A-Tampa had GRT's. It is about national touring wins not the number of people running cars locally or regionally.

Stats are mathematical opinions. Produce a stat that supports your claim

You don't have to be a Woo or Lucas regular to win one of those races. Yes, on percentage of cars sold, vs wins attained, the math doesn't look particularly good.

Another way to look at it is to use DoD's poll to give you an idea of what important races have been won by which chassis, since the top drivers in the poll are usually the ones winning the biggest races. Of the top 10, 6 are Longhorns, 2 are Rockets. No matter how you slice it, either the top drivers are choosing Longhorn more often or they are performing better.

Question for those of you in the loop. How many cars is Longhorn producing a year now. From the looks of it the loenbro buy out is probably gonna take them to the next level. Those guys seem to know how to run a real buisness as compared to the previous owners.

Let’s be honest. The top guys in longhorn can win in anything. JD, Overton, McCreadie, Moran, Marlar. No doubt in my mind Larson would be great in a rocket as well. The point is, longhorn has the better collection of drivers at the moment.

That is very true. The question is why?

Monkey see, monkey do, what the money man wants, various other reasons. The end result of that, however, is the shop phone ringing on Monday

No buyer cares that RJ Conley won a race at Atomic with 3 other Rockets and a 2003 Mastersbilt in the top 5. They care how many Lucas races were won.

I compiled a list of drivers that competed on a National level. Either Lucas, WoO,XR, or Flo. I left out Owens since he ran both and Dalton Wilson cuz I don't know what he's in.
    Out of 32 competitors
    14 longhorns
    10 Rockets
    Pretty close actually.

Wilson was in a longhorn, and Jimmy spent most of the season in his rockets

And how many Longhorns are on WoO? There wasn't one last year.

I think Gundaker is in a Longhorn now but ran a lot of the season in a Black Diamond.

A more telling stat would be win percentage by races ran per chassis in each series.
